Fernwood Glamping in Hampshire

Fernwood’s brilliantly painted gypsy caravan and rustic shepherd’s hut provide a true glamping experience on a Hampshire campsite in South West england. It’s hard to imagine you’re only minutes from the welcoming market town of Ringwood, on the border of the New Forest, whether you’re snuggled into a forest area or gazing out over a field where deer and rabbits are commonly spotted. Easy access to the A31, which leads to beaches, Poole, and other destinations, can be had from Fernwood Glamping.

Fernwood Glamping is located just outside of Ringwood, a classic New Forest market town with shops, pubs and great restaurants. Guests will appreciate the ample room for their children to play, as well as the opportunity to observe buzzards circling in the sky, deer playing in the field, and hearing a variety of birds in the trees, ranging from woodpeckers during the day to owls at night.

The shepherd’s hut and gypsy van, which are separated by 25 meters, are ideal for two people, but they can also sleep two little children (up to aged 10). The lodging is located a short distance from the main house and looks out over the fields, providing a far higher level of solitude than a typical Hampshire campsite.

Both the shepherd’s hut and the gypsy van feature a tiny wood stove that will get you toasty warm in a matter of minutes and will keep you warm even after you turn it off. The owners will also hand you a small basket of wood which you can use in said burner.

You might wish to toast a marshmallow or two on the fire pit or chimenea outside while watching the sunset with a glass of wine and a grill (pick up an extra basket for a small fee on site, which should last 1-2 evenings). There is also an electric socket for charging gadgets, fairy lights, tea lights, lanterns, and a torch offer lighting.

The double beds come with bedding and towels, as well as a sleeping bag with an integrated pillow for younger guests.

It’s a fun place to visit with kids (recommended for ages 4 to 10 owing to the length of the beds), but the proprietors do advise that you be aware of the safety concerns if you have younger children before booking (hot wood burner, high tree house and unfenced pond). The owners of Fernwood Glamping guarantee a warm welcome and will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

A continental breakfast basket, which contains cereals, bread, jam, a muffin or pastry, fresh fruit and yoghurt, milk, and juice, can be booked ahead of time as an optional extra. This can be stored in your hut or wagon until you arrive.
