If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Paris, the Ibis Montmartre is a great option. This hotel is centrally located and offers easy access to many of the city’s attractions. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
My husband and I stayed in the Ibis Montmartre in Paris on our little Paris trip at the start of July. This article reviews our experience at the Ibis Montmartre in Paris.
I sadly do not have pictures since my husband and I arrived late at night after a 14 hour flight from Nepal.

The problem with finding a hotel in Paris
If you’re planning a trip to Paris anytime soon, you might want to start looking for a hotel now – and I don’t say that lightly. I recently went on a trip to Paris with my husband and, believe me, finding a reasonably priced hotel in the city is no easy feat.
We did a ton of research before our trip, and it seemed like all Paris hotels were crazy expensive. We finally decided on the Ibis Montmartre, which was still pricey but much cheaper than the other options. Although we saved a lot of money by staying at this hotel, it still wasn’t exactly a cheap trip.
A lot of the hotels clocked in at € 400 for two nights. No – that is not a mistake. €200 per night for a hotel room in Paris that was not actually that nice! Ultimately, we decided to settle for the Ibis hotel in Montmartre.
Other hotels we looked at for our trip
Here are some of the other hotels we looked at when booking our trip. We ultimately went with the Ibis because of its location and because were were getting in very late from Kathmandu and wanted to be somewhere easy to reach from the Airport by Uber.
Hotel Scarlett: A beautiful hotel near Belleville. Belleville is a hip neighbourhood and perfect for those who want to explore Paris like a local. Click here to book.
Hotel Lucien: Very modern hotel just steps away from The Louvre and Les Halles. Would have loved to stay here but in the end they sold out before we could book. Book today.
Hotel Apolonia: Another amazing hotel in Montmartre. This hotel by Best Western was sadly also sold out when we were finally ready to book. Click to find out more.
Why did we choose Ibis Montmartre?
When my husband and I were looking for a place to stay in Paris, we were looking for something well located and would not break the bank. The Ibis Montmartre was one of the cheaper options we found, and we decided to go for it.
We knew what we were getting when we booked an Ibis hotel – a smaller, box-standard room – but we were okay with that since we weren’t planning on shelling out hundreds of euro’s a night on a not-that-great hotel.
And we’re glad we made that choice because the location of the Ibis Montmartre was great. It was close to the Sacré-Cœur and the Moulin Rouge, and we had no trouble getting around Paris from there.
What was the room like at Ibis Montmartre?
I chose the cheapest option when booking my room at Ibis Montmartre. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, I had stayed in Ibis hotels before – but when booking a room in one of the World’s most famous and romantic cities, the quality might not be up to stretch. Sure, the room was small, but it was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a great shower. I would definitely stay here again.
Because we booked the cheapest option, our room looked out over the inner courtyard and some air conditioning units. However, this was not a problem because we were out all day and the hotel was very well located!
What was the breakfast like at Ibis Montmartre?
Suppose you’re staying at the Ibis Montmartre. The breakfast buffet is a decent option, but be forewarned, it is certainly not anything special. For the same price (10 euros as of this writing), you can find a more traditional breakfast of a croissant, bread, and coffee at any of the nearby bistros.
On our most recent visit, the Orange juice had run out by the time we arrived for breakfast (9:30am). We were told that it wouldn’t be replenished (and that I should instead try the three other machines, which were also empty). So, if you’re like me and can’t drink apple juice, you’re out of luck. All in all, it’s a decent enough breakfast if you’re starving, but there are certainly better options in the area.
Where is the Ibis Hotel in Montmartre located?
The Ibis Hotel in Montmartre is located on Rue Clichy in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The metro station Clichy is just steps away, connecting you to the rest of the city by metro. The hotel is close to many attractions, such as the Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge.
Who would I recommend Ibis Hotel in Montmartre to?
I would recommend Ibis Hotel in Montmartre for people who have visited Paris before and are mainly looking for a cheap place from where they have excellent transport links. It is also a great choice for those travelling on a budget or people who don’t really care about how nice or luxurious their room is and want someplace lovely and clean to stay for not too much money.
