$250 Asos Haul and Try on – amazing trousers but the dress can burn in hell!
As I am losing weight, most of my old clothes do not fit me anymore. They are too loose and in all honesty: I am just very very tired of them. I decimated my closet when moving abroad, throwing away most of my dresses, T-shirts and trousers. I put in a small Asos order as I needed new dresses and a new pair of trousers. The delivery was very swift. I received my package only a few days after ordering, and so I was ready to make a try-on video!
ASOS DESIGN Fallen Shoulder Prom Dress with Tie Detail - EU 44 - $80
The first dress I tried was this amazing prom dress from Asos Design. As I have a big bum and a big bosom, I try to stay away from bodycon dresses.
I often opt for vintage inspired prom dresses like this one. I love the cut and the model of this Asos design prom dress. Not only does the off-shoulder look absolutely amazing, it also compliments big bosoms very nicely. Although there is some cleavage, it is not tacky at all. In fact - I would actually say that the cleavage in this dress looks very stylish and proper but sexy at the same time.
I don't like the way my bum looks in this dress. Fair enough - I have a big bum. But this dress makes it look even bigger. In fact - I was surprised when I was editing my video how absolutely massive I looked in that dress. I have lost 7kg since I moved to Dubai (7 kg in 5 months) and seeing me in the dress did put me down a bit - even though I loved the way I looked from the front.
Another reason why I decided to send the dress back is the fabric. It feels very synthetic. It is also very thick which means it is very unsuitable to wear in Dubai. Winters in Dubai are reasonably warm at 23-28 degrees Celsius and I do not feel I can get $80 worth of wearing out of the dress during the two weeks a year we are in Europe during the winter.
ASOS DESIGN wrap top with bell sleeve in slinky - EU 44 - $31.50
Crop tops are in. And they have been 'in' for the past couple of years. However, I have never really worn one just because I am quite embarrassed by my tummy. As I have lost some weight and gained confidence, I wanted to try if I could pull off a crop top.
This amazing little piece from ASOS Design is absolutely LUSH! I love the design and the fabric. Even though it has long sleeves, it does not feel too warm. The slinky material looks amazing in the sunlight and it seems to be complimenting all body types.
However, when wearing the top I felt very self-conscious about my belly and decided that I was still too embarrassed to keep it. I have no high waisted trousers and this skirt is the only one that fits the little top - so no use in keeping it if I am never going to wear it.
If you are a bit braver than me, I would definitely recommend buying this beauty as the fabric and the design are lovely!
New Look biker jacket in pu - EU 42 - $43
I love leather jackets.
I bought my first leather jacket when I was about 14 and my last leather jacket was thrown out 1.5 years ago because it was just too old and broken and ruffled up. I was looking forward to owning another leather jacket and I was very excited when this one arrived.
Even though the leather jacket is actually made from plastic (PU), it feels nice and fits great.
However, I might have been a bit too excited when ordering this one as I forgot that Dubai is freakishly hot 12 months a year. Ha! Yes. I can't really pull off wearing a leather jacket here!
If it wasn't so hot here I would definitely have bought this one, but I guess I have to wait until we live somewhere with bigger differences in temperature.
Freddy shaping mid rise jegging - UK 14 - 16 - $129
I put these in my basket because I needed a new pair of trousers. I had no idea what Freddy was or why they were so expensive (So lucky I was able to buy them in the sales!).
These jeggings are incredibly comfortable while still looking and feeling like trousers. These shaping jeggings do a great job in making my legs and bum look nice and thinner.
All in all I really like the look of these jeggings and my husband loves how they make my behind look (haha). So I decided to keep these! Especially since the discount I bought them at was so steep(£38).
After doing some more research I noticed a lot of Instagrammers and Youtubers were talking about these trousers. Seems like I did got a great deal!
I bought sice 14 to 16 and they are still maybe a tiny bit too small for me (right inbetween 14 and 16). The trousers are also quite long meaning they can ruffle up at your knees.
Girls who are a bit chubby (like I am) might need to get used not to pull the trousers up too high as the trousers do have a habit of giving massive camel toes when pulled up too high.
ASOS DESIGN halter neck mini button through linen sundress with buckle - EU 44 - $31.50
This dress can literally burn in hell!
I hate it. I hate it so much. First of all the fabric feels very rough and scratchy. It is cotton - which should be good for the heat. But this feels like it is wanna-be linnen. I am not the biggest linnen fan, but still - linnen feels a lot better than this rough material.
Then - the cut and the design of the dress are absolutely horrible. The top bit is very flappy (you can see the same on the model!) which does not look nice when you have a big bosom. The cleavage also looks very weird as I think it should OR be cut out lower - or just be cut out differently. I do not feel it complements me or my figure.
The little buckle has no function at all. Because there is a massive elastic band put in the lower back of the dress, adjusting the buckle has no effect at all.
I really don't like this dress and I feel $30 for this dress in particular is very expensive seen the horrible design and the cheap fabric.
No. This one is going back!
